LYNCHBURG, Va. — The Kennesaw State Owls defeat the Liberty Flames 48 – 42 after double overtime to claim their spot in the Conference USA Championship game.
Jerry Mack and the Owls fight through extra football to claim their 9th win of the season.
Amari Odom throws for 240 yards with 14 completions on 23 attempts. He was also responsible for at least 5 touchdowns for the second game it a row throwing 4 and rushing for 1.
Gabe Benyard dazzled with 82 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns on 4 receptions. Coleman Bennett led rushers with 92 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries.
The Owl defense had some struggles but came up big when it mattered most having 3 tackles for loss including a sack on the Flames final possession. Defense also came away with a fumble recovery on the first possession of the game which eventually resulted in a KSU touchdown to open scoring.
With the win, the Owls are now slated to play Jacksonville State, for a second time this season, in the conference title game.
The game is set for Dec. 5, 2025 at Jacksonville
This will be the Gamecocks second time hosting the title game in 2 years and they will look to beat KSU for the second time this season to claim a second CUSA title in their second season in the conference.
