KENNESAW, Ga. — The Kennesaw State Owls cap off their home stretch strong with a big win over the Missouri State Bears after a thrilling fourth-quarter go-ahead touchdown. The win Saturday cemented the owls season-long home win streak marking the first time the Owls have accomplished the feat.
The Owls starting quarterback, Amari Odom, made history of his own after completing his 5th touchdown of the night to Chase Belcher with 27 seconds left on the game clock. Overall Odom finished the game with 24 completions on 34 attempts and 387 passing yards.
Other key contributors to the win include, star receiver Gabriel Benyard who caught 7 passes for 127 yards and had 2 touchdowns, and Clayton Coppock who had 4 catches for 87 yards and 2 touchdowns.
On the defensive side of the ball, Alexander Ford and Baron Hopson each had an interception, the former of which went for an 81-yard return.
Kennesaw will play the Liberty Flames in Lynchburg, VA on Saturday, November 29th, for their final game of the regular season. The game is set for 8:30 pm.
The Owls will be playing to all but guarantee their spot in the Conference USA Championship, and the Flames will be playing for revenge after the Owls spoiled their, at the time, undefeated season in week 7 of the 2024 regular season.
